This Category Buyer (Sheet Metal) position sits within the Badr Procurement organization of Schneider Electric's International region, located at the Badr Plant in Cairo, Egypt. The role owns the strategic supplier relationship between Schneider Electric and its sheet metal supply base, driving cost competitiveness, quality assurance, and supply continuity for critical manufacturing operations. As a Procurement Specialist focused on metal commodities, you will execute category strategies that align with global sourcing objectives while managing local vendor performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for sheet metal procurement across direct and indirect spend
• Lead strategic sourcing events including RFQs, negotiations, and supplier selection for metal fabrication
• Manage supplier performance through KPIs covering quality, delivery, cost reduction, and innovation
• Drive cost optimization initiatives targeting year-over-year savings on commodity purchases
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to qualify new suppliers and approve material substitutions
• Monitor market trends for steel, aluminum, and fabricated metal pricing to inform buying decisions
• Ensure compliance with Schneider Electric's procurement policies, sustainability standards, and risk protocols
• Prepare monthly category reports highlighting spend analytics, savings tracking, and supply risk assessments

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive procurement experience with minimum 3 years in direct materials buying
• Proven expertise in sheet metal, stamping, fabrication, or metal commodity management
• Strong negotiation skills with track record of delivering double-digit cost savings
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel for spend analysis
• Fluent in English and Arabic; French language capability is a strong advantage
• CIPS certification or equivalent professional procurement qualification preferred
