Secondary History Teacher – British International School in Qatar

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured History lessons aligned with the British curriculum
• Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation
• Collaborate with fellow educators and contribute to curriculum development
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students of varying abilities
• Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development sessions
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in History, Education, or a related field
• Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Proven experience teaching History at the secondary level in a British or international school setting
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred Skills

• Experience with UK Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level History curricula
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques
• Ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning
• Previous experience working in the Middle East or international school environments
