Paint Technician – Body Shop | Al-Futtaim Automotive | Qatar

About the Role

Al-Futtaim Automotive is seeking an experienced Paint Technician to join our Body Shop team in Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, applying primer and paint, and ensuring a flawless finish that meets the manufacturer’s standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and filling imperfections.
• Mix, match, and apply primer, base coat, clear coat, and other paint materials according to manufacturer specifications.
• Operate and maintain paint booths, spray guns, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure color accuracy, thickness, gloss, and adhesion meet required standards.
• Identify and correct paint defects such as runs, sags, orange peel, and overspray.
• Coordinate with body shop estimators and technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Paint Technician or Spray Painter in an automotive body shop or collision repair center.
• Strong knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and application techniques.
• Familiarity with modern paint systems, spray equipment, and drying/curing processes.
• Attention to detail with the ability to achieve high-quality finishes.
• Good manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks.
• Basic understanding of vehicle body repair and refinishing processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Skills

• Certification or training in automotive painting or refinishing.
• Experience with Al-Futtaim Automotive or similar premium automotive brands.
• Knowledge of environmentally friendly paint systems and low-VOC products.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, to meet production targets.
