Accounting / Bookkeeping Officer

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting / Bookkeeping Officer to manage financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a commitment to accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate accounting entries, journals, and supporting documentation.
• Process accounts payable, ensuring timely and correct payments to vendors.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly.
• Prepare financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in the Kuwaiti market or similar GCC environment.
• Certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
