Team Leader, Commercial - OQ8

Job Overview

OQ8 is seeking an experienced Team Leader, Commercial to drive the commercial strategy and operations from our Muscat office. This role is pivotal in managing key business relationships, optimizing revenue streams, and leading a high-performing commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial team in developing and executing sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue targets.
• Manage client portfolios, identify new business opportunities, and negotiate contracts.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine commercial strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments (supply chain, finance, operations) to ensure seamless execution of commercial agreements.
• Prepare and present regular performance reports, forecasts, and budget recommendations to senior management.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in commercial, sales, or business development roles, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Proven track record of leading teams and achieving revenue growth.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Industry knowledge: Familiarity with Omani and GCC energy markets is highly desirable.

Technical & Soft Skills

• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
• Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build lasting client relationships.

Location & Reporting

This position is based in Muscat, Oman, and reports to the Commercial Director.
